Getty Images Bans AI-Generated Images Due To Copyright Worries
The Journalist’s Resource article describes the case in which Getty Images completely banned AI-generated images from its platform. Company CEO Craig Peters cited “real concerns about copyright” and “unresolved issues over image rights, metadata, and people depicted.” It was found that out of 12 million images used to train Stable Diffusion, 35,000 came from stock photo websites, and Getty watermarks frequently appeared in AI-generated pictures. This decision set an industry precedent for protecting copyright and intellectual property in the age of generative AI.

How and why we built Ask The Post AI
